Highlights of the day

Sports are one of the most happening thrills of life. Sports are something that teaches a human many qualities like dedication,leadership,disciplines etc.,.

Playing a sport is a winning combination both figuratively and literally and that why we lay special focus on awakening the sports talent of the students and then display the same at our “16th Annual Sports Day”.

We showed the world that our Tip to toe energy to everybody. On that auspicious day Mr.Gana Balakrishnan,Subordinate Judge, Omalur, our Chief guest headed over the function followed by our Guest of honour Mrs.D.Sangeetha Deputy Superintendent of Police, Omalur. They were honoured by our Principal and Vice-Principal respectively. The National flag, Olympic flag and our school flag had been hoisted. They were welcomed by one of our staff Mrs.Nancy. The chief guest declared the sports meet open. After declaring the sports meet open, the events had begun.

“Persistence can change failure into extraordinary achievements.”

As the saying says our school boys and girls nailed the entire events with laurels and they began their medal haul in 100mts, 200mts and 4X100 meter relay. Certificates and medals were given. The adulation words of praise showered on them. After the sports event our Yoga, Karate and Silambam masters taken over the lead.

Finally parents’ events had been conducted. Winners received their prizes.

The program ends with a closing ceremony. Our senior PET Mr.Pushparaj lowered the flag and handed over it to our Principal. It was finally handed over to our PETs to preserve it for next year.

At the end Vote of thanks was rendered by Mrs.Arul Mary.

The program ended with National Anthem.

Highlights of the day

The much awaited Annual Sports Day was held on August 22nd 2019 with great zeal and excitement. The programmed began with the welcome note of Rev.Fr.Albert Antony Raj, who emphasized the importance of sports in a child’s life. The chief guest most respected Mr.Chandra Mouli Anticorruption dept. Salem Dt. He took the Salute of the impressive March Past of the students, coupled with some stirring marching music by the band.

The students entered into the Spirit ion the occasion in a grand way with the oath being administrated by the school captain. The students displayed Karate and Yoga that mesmerized the audience. Once the races began, the air was filled with cheering and tons of encouragement for the young athletes.

Students of classes 6 to 12 competed in event including sprints, relays, sack race, and obstacle race and skipping race. The tug-of-was between the houses added fun to the enjoyment.

The Best March past trophy was won by the Red and Yellow houses and the overall trophy was awarded by the Yellow house.

Highlights of the day

The play ground of John Britto was filled with great zeal, excitement and frolic atmosphere on August as the school celebrated its 12th Annual Sports Meet. The fantastic turn out from the parents and the pleasant weather were the perfect boost for the students on the day at the John Britto. The whole play ground was decorated with flags, buntings and balloons a day earlier.

Students of classes 1, 2 and 3 competed team wise in their class events. The students displayed wide events. The students displayed a wide array of colourful and reverberant events showcasing the skills and exercises practiced by our young sports enthusiasts.

The Yellow House & the Blue House won the Winner’s Trophy for March past and the overall championship was bagged by the Yellow House.

The Sports Meet was a grand success, enabling the athletes to bring out their talents.

HOUSES

In order to promote a healthy competitive spirit among the students and to excel in studies, curricular activities, sports and games, the students are grouped into four houses. T-shirts of their respective house colour differentiate the students during games and other ceremonial occasions. House masters and teachers are assigned to each of the four houses to guide and streamline the activities of their house with captains and prefects.

  • Red House - Symbolizes passion, sincerity, power and strength.
  • Blue House - Symbolizes peace, tranquillity stability and loyalty.
  • Green House - Symbolizes nature, generosity, renewal and fertility.
  • Yellow House - Symbolizes joy, happiness, optimism and idealism.
